cd520 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 First off would like to say hello to all on the forum. I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks absorbing information. Anyway as I sit here with Newegg checkout minimized I thought I would post the system info and possibly get some feedback on the setup before I order. lowboy Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I would get different psu as that one does not meet recommend minimum. Just with to fortron site to see. Forget to 15a specs as true spec sheets show much less there 500w blue storm is good.
cd520 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I did check those out first. From what I saw in specs was AX450-PN = +3.3V@30A, +5V@28A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@18A, [email protected], +5VSB@2A AX500A Blue Storm = +3.3V@30A, +5V@28A, +12V1@15A, +12V2@15A, [email protected], [email protected] It says the 450 has more 12v amperage?? cd520 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Why that CPU? Can u get a better 2nd hand one? If I could find one better at the same price I'd go for that but havent had no luck.
lowboy Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Go to fortrons site and look at spec sheet for the 450w with vid card puts about 20a total from 12 v rails. The specs your looking at show what can deliver to one rail at a time just go and look to see ,if you know how to read the specs as for that psu they are fuzzy. I love fortron and my next psu will be the fortron epsilon 700w psu its just that one your looking at is not one of there better ones and the psu is the heart of you system if your going to cut a corner don't let it be with the psu as you will be sorry in the long run. Good luck
Kandoo Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 You may also look at the hipper 580w PSU. Not bad for the price. Also compair videocard prices with Evga and BFG, You may find something better /w lower price. Overall your choices are O.K. ludeboy12 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 i would go w/ the ocz powerstream 520 psu and i would drop the ASUS dvd-rom/cd-rom If your buying a dvd burner you really dont need another drive taking up space...also if you could wait another couple weeks or a month to save a lil extra money to be able to get an x2 3800 i would say go that route. of course im not saying the 3200 isnt a nice cpu....i have one...i just would want to make sure the comp im building is a lil more future proof... aside from that all looks pretty good i guess....
