harahel Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 hiya, i new here, and it also my first time setting up an AMD system, do let me know if i got it wrong anywhere... i got a new system set up as shown below and also in my sig: AMD64 3200+ Vernice DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert 2x1GB G.Skill Extreme F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX (Orange slots) 1x XFX GeForce 7800 256MB DDR3 PCIe Special Ed Hitachi Deskstar 80GB SATA2 LG 52x32x52x + 16x DVD Combo ThermalTake PurePower ATX 680W my initial checking of my BIOS settings show my DRAM voltage to be 2.66V.. but i get lots of errors (round 5000+) when i run memtest found in the board.. As i push the DRAM voltage up, the errors get lesser and lesser when i push my DRAM voltage up to 2.80V, i get no errors when running memtest.. i left the memtest running overnight and i get not a single error with 22 passes. Below is my Genie Bios/DRAM configuration: Dram Frequency Set : 200 Command Per Clock : Enable CAS Latency Control : 2 RAS# to CAS# delay : 3 MIn RAS# active time : 5 Row Precharge time : 2 Row cycle time : 7 Row refresh time : 13 Row to row delay : 2 write recovery time : 2 Write to read delay : 2 Read to write delay : 3 Refresh period : 3684 Write CAS Latency : 1 Dram Bank Interleave : Enable DQS skew control : Auto DQS skew value : 0 DRAM drive strength : 7 DRAM data drive strength : 3 Max async latency : 7 DRAM respone time : normal Read preamble time : 5 idelcycle limit : 256 Dynamic counter : enable R/W bypass : 16x bypass max : 7x 32 byte granularity : disable from the ram maker's website i gathered that these rams runs on 2.60-275V am i running them correctly (i'm running them @ 2.80V)? Pls comment want to know if i'm running them rams correctly...they are suppose to be 2-3-2-5 ones Thanks a lot

harahel Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 i reset the CMOS using the jumpers when i set some setting that is out of range and could not boot up after that.
rithina Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 i reset the CMOS using the jumpers when i set some setting that is out of range and could not boot up after that. What i did was, i do a cmos reset and set everything to auto and only manually change the first 4 timing of the ram. For your case, it should be 2-3-2-5. It should not have any issue with 2.7v
