Oceanborn Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Hey guys, I have an Athlon64 X2 3800+ @ 2.4GHz with no voltage increase whatsoever...the default voltage for the CPU even at this overclock level stays at 1.3V, is that normal??? And also I've heard some people saying that their X2 3800+ is a "Toledo" core rather than a "manchester" even if CPUZ detects as a manchester.... how the heck do I find out which core I have if CPUZ can't distinguish between the two?? lowboy Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 It will stay at default unless you change it in the bios. If its stable at 2400 with that voltage ya have a pretty good chip.Have check code on top of cpu to know for sure.
THunDA Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 It says 1.3v because the mobo sensors arent reading the voltage accuratly which is very common.. If you were to test the voltage with a DMM it would be very close if not right on the money.. Dont worry about this at all.. its totally normal.. If you look on the top of your cpu's IHS at the end of the part # it will have either a BV or CD.. BV = Manchester CD = toledo
Oceanborn Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Darn it....I'd have to remove the zalman CNPS700B Al-cu to see it... Any other ways to find that out??
avman Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Everest, Sandra or PC Wizard - Two of those three read my X2 3800+ Toledo/512 correctly.
