Case Fan Management System?

Recommended Posts

I have recently posted about mass amounts of fans being put into my system, i have 50 someodd 80mm fans and have just cam into the hands of 50 or so 92mm fans, all 12 volt all computer fans and i have a layout to fit about 40 or more of them in my case, kinda a wierd layout but it works! i dont want to spend a lot of money on baybus equipment so what would anyone suggest on a way to manage the fan, i want to be able to turn them off and the only way i can see so far is to have like 20 swithes and turn them off in pairs. if anyone has a creative idea on how to manage these fans and or fit more of them in to my case, please all suggestions are welcome! :)

Definately need some pics of the fan monster, but one way to go is with a DigitalDoc5. You can (supposedly) hook up and monitor 8 fans with this baby. It supports turning the fans on and off, but i don't know about raising and lowering the rpm (someone back me up). I'm thinking about getting one, but i'm not too sure as of yet...

thats my biggest problem would the digidoc have the power to say be able to run 8 off of one connection? i know it could manage 8 fans, but how about 64 or so? i dont really think i want to spend the money to find out, soo! well wait i do have one more question i have 2 power supplies out of Mac IIe, well they are setup nicely to do the job for running fans, but would it be completely sacreligious in a pc?
