Memory and Mainboard? (DFI)

Hi, I am planning to switch from Asus A8N SLI Deluxe to DFI. I wonder if this board is able to handle memory speed more then 250 HTT @ 1T? Will I have any incompatibility issues? I am using the Muskin XP PC4000 memory.

Also, I heard about DFI melted some X2 CPUs. I wonder what the problem is exactly. Has the problem been fixed? Should I go with SLI-DR instead of Expert?

Thats the price you pay if you want the best OC board. Need to know about memory timings and setting up these boards. They really are not for novices ,they require more to setup than any board I have ever seen. But I still have had no problems with it at all. Must be lucky I guess. As the forum is for troubles you do see alittle bit of everything.

Now guys his posting will make more sense because I merged his two threads together.

If he has a working board and is wondering about memory with the words "addressed" then I fear he will bite off more than he can easily digest with these ROCKET MONSTER DFI boards since they are the tweakers and tuners delight and have none of the near plug and playness of some of the Asus boards. There are not going to be any more bioses released anytime soon that I am aware of and certainly none that will address memory that is not proving to be compatible. There is no way the bios can rebuild the board from the ground up and these boards were made for one thing> haul major booty with compatible parts. Compatible parts are the responsibility of the system intergrator. Who is the system intergrator in the DIY market? The assembler himself becomes the system intergrator and the troubleshooter all rolled up into one.

No one should ever take the task of assembling your own without the will and tools to see it to the end.

Sorry

Here is the correct link:

http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...55&page=1&pp=15

By the look of the link, it doesn't look like "tweak and tune" will help much. That is the only thing I am worrying about. The only reason I post all the messages is to make sure that the product will fit my need. How do I find out? I think the only way is to ASK, which is an important part of being a consumer. Anyway, if I am not welcome, I guess I am in the wrong place. Thank you for those who really tried to help. I really approciate your warm welcome to the DFI community. (P.S. Also, some of the Asus boards are not working as easy as they sound, especially if get one with lots of problems.)

I spent over 2 1/2 moths of reading and asking questions before I bought anything, more reading here at DFI than anything else. When I bought you can see what I purchased in my signature. I followed the build guide which is a sticky to the letter and had NO problems at all, NONE!!!

Remember if you are not a patient person or get fluster easy then this is not a task you should under take. But if you are a patient person and love a challenge and can follow all of the guides presented in these forums you have a great chance of having a blast building one of these DFI boards. I have played with Asus, Abit and MSI boards in the past and they were fun but there is nothing else on the market that can compare to the DFI and all of its options in BIOS. Thamks Rgone, Angry, and ExRoadie just to name a few!! Thanks for making this a blast! :)
