cmay119 Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Yep, heard a lot of people having major instability without it plugged in. Although your results may vary, why not just go the safe route and give your board all the juice that it needs.

wevsspot Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 If it's there it's needed. No manufacturer would spend extra money installing a component that's not truly necessary. Whether speaking computer components or anything else. You simply don't give away a nickle or a penny on every item you sell. If DFI's engineers saw fit and saw needing that the addtional power was required, then it was included. So in closing, just use it. syar2003 Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 It's location tells it's purpose . More power to the pci-e powerbus when running powerhungry pci-e gfx cards or SLI . Other vendors have simular addon voltage for pci-e gfx . Shouldn't stop you from cpu overclocking.
