Vis Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I've kept my LDT volts to 1.20, but I was wondering if there is any advantage to upping it some? Everything is stable, I'm just wondering if it would allow me to get higher memory oc or is it not even related?
Reimannian Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 It's not related.

THunDA Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Check out the overclocking database to see what most of us are using.. It helps some people but for most it doesnt help much.. only way to know if it will help YOU is to try it and see..
madu Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I was using 1.2 and when i moved to 1.3 there was a difference.. I do not know ifs only for me, but i could get a bit more higher clock with it 1.3.. well i adjusted the ldt multi and other stuff too.. so I cant definitely say ts was because of the ldt voltage.. but i think it made a slight difference.. solgae1784 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 madu, do you think I should try upping the LDT voltage here. I can't get SuperPI to run w/o error with any decent memory speed here, and you did say to try switching around LDT multi......which didn't help much either =( I doubt it'll make any difference, but I'm running out of options....... THunDA Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Its worth a try.. Like I said it does help some people and Ive ran certain configs that did need to LDT voiltage bumped up a little..

Yes..If you are at 1.2v for LDT up for 1.3v and see.. it could make a difference and also I wouldnt think its would hurt anything.. Whats your ldt multi at now? It definitely helped me.. first I didnt bother to change the ldt multi and kept it at auto..since htt doesnt make any difference I didnt bother to calculate and change the it hoping auto would select the right one.. anyway i could not get past 2.84G what ever I did.. SuperPI gae me errors.. the I switched ldt multi x4.. which must have been the setting chosen by the auto anyway..well x3 or x4...no idea what it chose.. anyway at x4, and 1.3v to LDT and 1.5v to the cpu, I could go to 2.915Ghz.. BUT, if i switch to x3 LDT at this same setting, I cant boot.. So try uppping the LDT and also adjust the LDT multi too.. Good luck man..! solgae1784 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Thanks, I'll give it a try. I just ran 14 hours of all default tests from memtest at 250MHz with 2.5-3-3-8 without a single error and was just wondering why SuperPI would give me errors. I'm aware that memtest stable != windows stable, but it was getting ridiculous. I'm starting to think my SuperPI program got crapped out on me or something. madu Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Memtest checks only your memory ability..and SuperPI is a fp calculation program..it heavily loads the cpu..not much of memory.. so I think you will have to play around with the cpu settings..well.. now that you know your memory is fine anyway..cheers! solgae1784 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Actually I believe SuperPI is dependent on memory also. It doesn't really stresses my CPU like prime95 does. I finally managed to get SuperPI ran successfully at both cores!!! RAM speed is at 250MHz, and I needed to loosen the timings to 2.5-4-3-8. LDT voltage was upped to 1.3V. Any attempt to run SuperPI with 2.5-3-3-8 threw an error at me. I might need to play around with Drive Strength and Data Drive Strength values. Maybe tRC and tRFC values as well. This is hard =(
madu Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 It does use memory but not as much as prime does.. main srtress is on the cpu... it worked with 2.5-4-3-8 and not 2.5-3-3-8..? hmmm.... DId superPi freeze or gave an error?
