no one is sure what the temps really are. but what i see in the bios and smartguardian is what i put. i do live in a cold place and my house is no more 70F.

the point was that you took those readings as "accurate," which is not very likely at all. Unfortunately, they are probably 8-12C low given your configuration. :(

I think I'm about 10c off.

Motherboard: SLI-DR Expert

Mobo Revision: ???

Mobo BIOS version: 12/7 Official

CPU: X2 3800+ ADA3800DAA5CD (CCBWE 0544 XPMW)

CPU ID: ???

Idle Temp: 44C

Load Temp: 44C

Cooling: XP-120si w/Panaflow 1MBX

I can't find a program yet that reads the temp correctly...hence the same value for idle and max. This is default settings @ 1.33 vcore

what program gave you 44C for both idle/load?

what does your bios say under "PC Health" for your idle temp?

have you tried MBM5?

instead of polling if you "believe" the temps are wrong or not....you should provide people with means to actually calculate and prove factually whether their temps are out

i've provided the formula here.....and my findings

why is there a (-) negative value in the poll........the temps are over reported

What choice did you make in the poll above? I believe mine is 10-20C low.

Motherboard: SLI-DR Expert

Mobo Revision: A1

Mobo BIOS version: 12/7 Official

CPU: Athlon 64 X2 4400+

CPU ID: ???????????

Idle Temp: was 18C at stock 1.35v at 1.5v getting 24C idle which is LOWER than room temperature!!!! YA RIGHT room temp is 24C here.

Load Temp: 39C at 1.5v

Cooling: Water dual rad still not possible to be lower than room temp by 6C

_______________

Its off by AT LEAST 10C and maybe more... who knows... nice to spend $200 on a board and have PHATTY temps.... but they're wrong as wrong can be and that ain't right.

great formula, and i've used it myself, but like i said above, the poll is intended to demonstrate the general level of awareness amongst the owners of DFI boards. It's not scientific by any means;but, when you compare the responses with actual data that the voters submit in the thread, you can see that most do not have any idea what their actual temps are, or even what they should be.

that said, what do you mean by "over reported"? Mine are reported at roughly -15C from actual... I would interpret that as them being under reported...?

my results based on the innacurate readings:

cpu delta = 10

Total W = 159.50

themal resistense = 0.062696

so now what? basically all i determined was that my temps are being reported incorrectly. there is no chart anywhere that can tell you what your actual resistance should be based on whatever HSF you use... is there? Where did you get the 0.18C/W value?

using the same would give me 49.71 load temps, so it's closer, but there's still no mathematical way to determine real temps, right? i wish...

general research into the subject of HSF permformance gave me the same finding: My temps are reported wrong.

What choice did you make in the poll above? off by less than -10C

Motherboard: SLI-DR Expert

Mobo Revision: ???

Mobo BIOS version: 12/7 Official

CPU: Opteron 148

CPU ID: ???

Idle Temp: 27C (36C Compensated)

Load Temp: 34C (43C Compensated)

Cooling: Water

Motherboard monitor under reports by about 9C. I'm having Motherboard monitor compensate an additional 9C to produce a more accurate temperature. Today, my current abient temp is ~27C and water temperature is ~29C. There is no way the CPU can have the same temp as ambient. The CPU tends to be 4-6C higher than the my dual rad water temp.

What choice did you make in the poll above? are off by -10C to -20C

Motherboard: SLI-DR Expert

Mobo Revision: A02

Mobo BIOS version: 12/7 Official

CPU: A64 3500+ Venice E6

CPU ID: ???

Idle Temp: 22C (37C Compensated)

Load Temp: 27C (42C Compensated)

Cooling: SI-120+AKASA Amber 120mm

No way to have 22*C when I've got 20 in the room.

More revision soon - when temp moitoring diode will arive => changed compensation will be and more accurate data.
