Budwise Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I recnetly installed an MCW55 on my 7800GT and i noticed the lowest my GPU ever gets is 31C. I later read on a thread somewhere that 31C was the cutoff for temp monitoring on DFI NF4 boards and anything below would still read 31C. Any truth to this? I have to show my pics of course
Guest Dynamic Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I don't think that statement is true since i have an overclock 3000+ IDLing at 25c using MBM. You're using MBM to see your temp with your GT right? Why don't you install RivaTuner and check out the temps from that if you don't believe what you see? The temperature sensor for the GPU is built onto the card so it has nothing to do with the motherboard...
olympic Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 The only way to see temps lower than 31C is to flash the card with a new BIOS. You can read all about that here http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/show...ad.php?t=181471 I have the same water block on my GTX and it idles at 25C. Angry_Games Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 my XFX 7800GTX has a full waterblock and the Nvidia control panel will only go down to 31C...it won't show lower than that (but that's ok for me personally)
Guest Dynamic Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I know on my Connect3D X800GTO my GPU Temp goes down to almost 26c sometimes with ATI TOOL. So is this a problem with GT's?
olympic Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 The 31C min reading is programmed into the cards BIOS. There are modded BIOS files around to remove that limit as well as tweak other settings.
Budwise Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 hrm, not sure where to find one for a GT though as the one in the thread is for GTX...
