Lowkey Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Hello i'm new to DFI Streets, I need help with my new pc I have just put together, everything seems to be working fine but the problem is when I insert Kingmax 256MB SD DDR memory into DIMM1 the pc does not boot and my monitor also does not turn on. However when I insert it into DIMM3 it works perfectly but the fan stops after boot and starts running again in Windows...I have just got the memory tested by a computer shop because the old memory I had, had alot of errors! Thanks any help is appreciated!

albumleaf Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Jesus calm down. DDR 2100 ram DOES work in the NF3, so those saying otherwise don't know what they're talking about. However, your crappy Kingmax ram may be giving you issues anyway, go pick up a 512 stick of decent ram and try again.
Lowkey Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Right i'll try getting hold of a 512 stick but the 256 one works in the other 2 slots and doesn't in the first one...kinda weird!
smolt Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Dont matter how weird! it sounds as long as it works . memory plays strange games in this board different knid like different slots. most like 1.& 3 some wont work but 1 & 2 and in your case 2 &
Lowkey Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 RAM is important I think, DFI say it can handle 3GB on DDR 333. So it should work, I might send it back to them for repair.
