b0redom Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Greetings all, So this weekend I had a go at overclocking my X2 4400+. It's watercooled, so it only ever really gets warm. My RAM is Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX, running at: 2-3-3-6, 1T I've set all the other memory values at Auto. I set multiplier at 11x, and the FSB at 240. I set the HT multiplier at 3x, and the RAM divider at 5/6 The box seems stable enough, but I only get around 8400 in 3dmark2005. I'm sure before, I've had in excess of 11000. Can anyone see if I'm doing anything stupid? I've got an XFX 7800GTX Extreme Edition in there, and I'm sure something's a bit odd! Any help appreciated... Guest Ryn Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Are the AA and AF off?
frank white Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 nothing really seems to makes sense with some systems. A buddy of mine and I just recently built identical systems, except he has an xfx 7800gtx and I am running an MSI versions. We both auto detect the same vga settings uaing coolbits (something like 489/1300) and use them to run the same test. Same drivers and all, still he gets several hundred high then I do in mark05. b0redom Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I'm running vanilla tests - just downloaded off the Internet and hit go. I'd be interested in knowing what everyone else gets for this and 3dmark2006. Cheers... Tom
HITandRUN Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Ist this a 512mb version? I guess not! I'm running 11000 with my two 6800gt's in SLI. Got a link to that Vanilla Test?
b0redom Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Vanilla = just the standard ones. I downloaded 3dmark05, installed it and hit GO. Just a single 256MB 7800GTX. Might be time for an upgrade! Tom

Been thinking about getting one[/quote] i do ... it did super wonders for my 6600GT ... but since i had the 7800GTX w/ ACS3 cooling it was not a huge improment .. idle temps are down by like 4'C .. and full on temps are about the same .. a bit of disapointment... the ram cooling solution for it is kind of weak .. so i left the top side of the cards acs3 cooler on them ... but its quieter .. and it does take put all the heat outside so my case temps are a bit cooler ... im pretty satisfied with it
