Memory boot problems

Recommended Posts

I just got a Lanparty UT nf3 Ultra-D mobo. I got everything hooked up and booted her up, and she has problems with 2 512M Kingston duel channel sticks. Msmolt and I have been working furiously, (more Msmolt working and me getting furious lol), and it runs absolutely fine without any problems on 1 stick. But, when both sticks are in, she wont get past memtest 3. It gets to 99% on test 3 and drops back to 52% and freezes. We tried the sticks in every dimm combo we could think of and it still does the same thing. We also tested both sticks seperately and they both passed memtest without any errors. If anyone has any advice I would be greatly appriciative. I really dont want to run on just 1 512 stick, but I have no choice at the moments, seeing as how I am NOT putting that piece of junk msi board back in. I really hope someone could shed some light on this subject. Thanks in advance.

I know it isnt the ram either, cause I just put the sticks in another rig and they were fine.

Inaccurate statement. All you really know is the ram works in another computer but you do NOT know if the memory is compatible with two sticks in the NF3 you are trying to use the memory in.

RGone...

The timings are all set at auto. The exact Kingston I have is KHX3200AK2/1GR. I know it isnt the ram either, cause I just put the sticks in another rig and they were fine. And the bios is 8/24/2005.

Well, yeah lol. Im just very frustrated that this isn't working. I ran my old single channel ram and it passed memtest without any problems. I checked Kingston's website, and this ram is listed as being compatable with this board. So frustrating.

this board has been picky from the start with memory. I was looking for information on those Kingston. But I would start with 2.9v on them and manualy setting the timmings to 2-3-2-6 in the bios. and see from there if it will boot. in orange slots
