Is g.skill good enough?

I want 2x1024mb ram to replace the ones in my sig. I live in France so the selection of ram seems to be quite limited.

From what I've picked up here, the brands to get are OCZ, G.Skill, Geil or Crucial

OCZ is way too pricy for me, at 299 euros for the gold sticks.

However, I found these G.Skill Extreme series PC4000 here which I am tempted to buy.

I have searched hard for Ballistix, but the only ones I can find are on ebay, and I'm hesitant about buying things where I may need a reliable warranty from ebay.

The only Geil ram I can find is the value series which from what I've learnt from my Corsair sticks here is to be avoided.

I want to get my cpu between 2.6 and 2.8ghz, so good ram is important.

The price is fairly important to me; I don't want to spend what isn't necessary, as I have heard many people here praising G.Skill, but then Angry coming in and saying "go OCZ".

Question: should I go for these G.Skill sticks, or shall I look hard, and maybe import from the uk to find other ram?

ok, thanks a lot you guys, those clocks are all really good, and like you say palehorse, low voltages are good.

And since I want to spend only what's necessary, I'm more than happy to settle for g.skill as opposed to the ballistix

those Gskill sticks are great @270x10, 1:1 for me.. and they LOVE low-voltages, which is always nice!

the ballistix are not worth it if you ask me...

Just had some G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 (2x1GB) CAS3 Dual Channel Kit (F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ) (due to my crucial Ballistix going bad) this morning put them through 5 hours (maybe should of do longer anyway) memtest no errors so on to the overclocking I know my cpu is good for 2.9Ghz-3ghz

Crucial post number 760: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29743&page=51&pp=15

At the moment going through memtest 264*11 no errors, I do not believe that my crucial cost me a £100 pound more last August and these G.skill are doing the same job as my Ballistix did (but my crucial lasted a good 2-3 months before they started to play up so I will hope these will last longer then 3 months stable and error free)

Some settings (if anyone can suggest any improvement please post or pm me thanks): http://img70.imageshack.us/my.php?image=desktopa5cc.jpg

G.Skill : Looks promising and the price is not bad to.
