IHS Removal Tutorial (AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!)

Recommended Posts

i removed the ihs on a 3200+ and a 3700+ today took like a minute each. wonderful. i put expoxied the ihs back on though. compared to 31ish i was getting with the 3200+ with the original ihs on, the 3700 with the reapplied ihs is 2ish degrees hotter. maybe i just have to wait for the as5 to settle.

STICKY THREADS ARE YOUR FRIEND

please read them as much as possible...

As long as I still have the file sitting around and am able to, I'm happy to seed whenever someone wants. I should be able to seed the file until around June.

I would say thats good if you want to improve the contact between the IHS and core but you are afraid of mounting your cooler on the bare core..
