Capt Proton Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I have used Speed Fan for a while now. I don't even install Smart Guardian. The above instructions are missing a step, but, it might not be necessary if Smart Guardian is running. Under "configure" in Speed Fan, click the "Advanced" tab. You must now click the drop down and select the chip that reports the temperatures you want to monitor and control. It's probably IT8712F at $290 on ISA, at least it is on my board. Then, highlight PWM 1. In the drop down below with "Set To" beside it, select "Software Controlled". Do this for the other PWM as well. Click "OK". This works for me.
