winxp sp2 shutdown issues

Recommended Posts

After selecting shutdown from windows computer goes through the motions of a powerdown then immediately afterwards the system starts up again??

Only time i managed to fix it was by messing with the wake on keyboard/mouse options in bios. Hurrah it shutdown....

Then it would no longer switch on (had this problem before) so i cleared cmos using DFI official technique and it works again but still wont shutdown.

Does anyone reckon getting the new official bios update fixes the problem+does this in any way affect the motherboard warranty(as opposed to using alpha bioses)?

Don't know what causes the problem but I also suffer from it and, as I'm running the latest BIOS then I'm afraid that ain't gonna fix it. May be one of the settings. I suppose we'll have to mess around with those to see if we can correct it.

thats just what i was thinking only started happeneing after i did a re-install of windows before the install computer was fine and i had no issues at all i have noticed that the computer will not restart if i switch it off at the power button rather than let windows switch off for me wonder if that is anything to do with it windows being the cause and not the bios its self ?
