NeoStrom Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Hey guys, been OCing the rig in my sig (i rymed) and can't seem to take my memory past 260HT prime stable 1:1. My CPU still has some room. Tested it at 265 and it was fine, but as soon as I take the ram up i get errors. Anyone have any experience working with this ramm (in congunction with my mobo perhaps)? Any ideas? Right now I'm stable at 10 x 260 +.3 1:1 3-4-4-8 1t w/2.6 volts. Thanks
Dave_Sz Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 For starters, give it 2.7 or 2.8v. Put your cpu on a lower multi and try to OC the ram. List your bios settings for your ram, all of them.
Guest FZ1 Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I disagree...this RAM likes low voltage - even as low as 2.5v. Praz Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 My HZ modules definitely like low voltage. See my signature. I can run these stable to 280 but my CPU won't handle anything above 264. But I've made some changes and am working on that. Right now I have settings of 270 1:1 and have passes Super_Pi, OCCT and 3dMark2005 I am running Prime95 as I type this. NeoStrom Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 nice oc saruman! those timings are all well and good, but I don't know how they translate to the NF3 ultra board. I have a lot of the same ram settings, but not all of them. Does anyone know what settings (in bios) that are specific to the NF4 (Ultra and Expert) and shouldn't be used on my mobo (AGP 939)? palehorse Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 ok, check out the timings listed in my A64Tweaker window in this screenshot... take each of the timings and note their abbreviated name (trc, tras, trrd....etc). Then place those values in their coorisponding slot in the DRAM settings of BIOS. This shot was taken using 270mhz on the DRAM with a 1:1 ratio and 2.64v RAM voltage... 100% stable in all tests and benchmarks. Set your TREF to 36?? in bios to match these. (whatever the value is that begins with the 36) GL!
Dave_Sz Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 TWCL set to auto in BIOS if it already isn't. Play around with max async latency and read preamble.
