Thasp Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Maybe the chip is a man and doesn't like being referred to as a she, so it doesn't overclock well. Lots of venices are OC duds in that fashion, especially the higher speed ones. Mine takes 1.575v to get to 2.5 GHz, 3000+ venice. two left feet Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 For what its worth at this stage of the thread. My first Venice was a 3500 and it also OCed like crap. Ended up at with the multi at 11x and the memory at 240. Extra volts didnt help out. respect..
nitemareglitch Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Yeah, I have found out that no matter what volts I put into "IT" , will not get pas 2.6ghz 260x10 seems fine and stable though on a divider. My memory bandwidth still is fine on all the benchys. When I get home again today gonna prime before going to bed.
nitemareglitch Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Woot sauce. Started Prime last night and when I woke up it was still running (only about 7 hrs though) so when I get home from work today everything should be fine. 260x10 on a small divider giving me about DDR 464 . . . woot. Should have the rest of my benchmarks done when I get home! GAHHH!!!! Getting this cpu up to this speed has been tourture. Makes me wanna get a cheapo Opty and see how far IT can go on this board. People complaining about the Expert? Its my first DFI board, 1st pc I have built for myself, and I am lovin' it.
ElevenZero Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Nightmare, I know this is a dead thread, but try 246x11 and 1.550 with and extra 105% added. That should give you good stability.
