Problems with Monitor...

Recommended Posts

i am getting a weird message when i play games.. Almost all the time i get a black or a weird screen with a box saying "not optimum mode. 1280x1024 60hz recommended".. and the computer freezes completely and i have to press the reset button...

i have the latest driver from the website and the original driver from the CD does the same.. any clues?

never had that problem before with my previous motherboard.. any clues?

could ocing cause that?

Is your card actually overclocked? It sounds to me that the monitor refresh rate could be exceeded. You can normally check this in coolbits where there a option to hide resolutions and rates that the monitor cannot handle.

Samsung SyncMaster 730BF..

bought in October.. started around 2 months ago....

dont have another monitor to try... all games...

ok so at one time it worked fine? are you using dvi or analog connections?

dose the whole screen turn blue with "video mode not supported"?

have u tried the 82.65 beta drivers, the changed my advanced timings alittle.

what are is your refresh rate.. is it to high?

do you remove previous drivers before installing new ones.

yes. DVI.

not blue.. it looks like "snow".. scrambled singal.. cant explain it. really.. with a box in the middle saying "not optimum mode. 1280x1024 60hz recommended"...

no.. using official 81.98.

the refresh rate is at 60Hz.... nothing else is supported at 1280x1024...

yes. fresh install of windows and using driver cleaner..

Well I think it has something to do with timingresolutionrefresh rate.

I had a similar problem with my lcd, that’s why I tried to get as much info from u as i can. My problem was I was running a 75mhz refresh rate on 2d. It would work fine for awhile then when apps would try to run a different refresh like the opening bull in battlefield 2 my monitor would go blue with a box saying "video mod not supported" but it would be fine on my other monitor.(running dual monitors)

Well i tried to put 2d back to 60 hertz and still nothing ... well anyway this is to much typing.

So did you try to do a refresh rate override? Make sure your 1280x1024 forces a 60hz refresh rate.(this somewhat helped me)

If that doesn’t work I would try 1024x768
