AtaruMoroboshi Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Alright, I've been doing the OC guide to a T and making sure that I go exactly as I should. I've currently got my 3500+ AMD up to 2719 or 272x10. My voltages for VID are 1.50v and my CPU temp is currently at 45-47c when SuperPI is running the 32mb test. I'm just inching my way up and I'm loving the results! Everything's running stable, I'm still doing inching the OC up about 10-14mhz at a time! I wonder if I could reach 2.8...by the way, I'm doing this on air cooling.
Guest thespin Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Time to try running the Prime95 torture test once for at least a couple of hours before going further. If it runs, then go back to testing with SuperPi. If not, then start adjusting for stable runs with Prime ..

AtaruMoroboshi Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I couldn't get past Prime, so I pumped up the volts to 1.525. I hope I can get some stable from there. I also turned it down to 270x10. I really want 2700...that would be awesome!
AtaruMoroboshi Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Darn, probably won't get 2700 mhz, I'm down to 2660 mhz right now. Prime seems stable enough, I'll up it until I get the best OC. This is taking longer than I thought it would.
Strife101 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Prime needs to run at least 12hrs in the blend test to be considered stable if not more. Many errors can happen after the 6 hour mark. Anyway, it took me about a week and half to fine tune everything till it was completely stable.
Guest thespin Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Go back a little ways until it's stable for sure, then start creeping back up with different adjustments to stabilize when you find a point of instability. It does take a lot of fiddling AND STUDYING THE TECHNIQUES THAT OTHERS HAVE USED SUCCESSFULLY to move up ...
