so true....

I was with a woman for a very short time....she was by far the most ungreatful person I have ever met by a large margin.....I just dont understand them....

I thought at the time i loved her....I abought a ring and asked her to marry me....she said yes....then a day or two later she asked me if I could return the ring....I was taken back....Her reason was she really saw another ring she's rather have more...but was unwilling to show me the ring....she also said If I truely knew her picking the ring would be easy for me....she probably told me once of the ring she liked....but my wondering mind probably wasn't listening... after all I am a man.... well I asked her friend about it and her friend knew of the ring... so I bought it and presented it to her.... only to be hassled to take it back again.....Her reasoning this time was....you (me) did not pick the ring out my friend did for you therefor it has no meaning....BS....right then and there I said.... you have no meaning atleast not to me.... and dumped her then and there.... what a crock... people like this, man or women, are just to show the devine creator has wasted perfectly good parts on perfectly useless people....

This was in 99/00 and look back still in disbelief....I cant believe I stayed as long as I did....

I believe you have to go thru a few bad relationships before you get a good one...or you won't appreciate the good one as much and may take it for granted....

AG - i feel exactly what you're saying... cept when you start going off on the unrealistic space sci-fi stuff.

i drive a honda accord, stick shift, and i don't "hot rod" with it as gas is expensive. really expensive for me since i'm on a fixed income. i just watched a television program on Discovery's Science Channel and there are several alt fuels and propulsion concepts in the works. for instance, the hydrogen supercharged fuel cell engine; which looks to be the most promising. the small 1.0L engine works in combonation with a fuel cell that puts out around 85K/w an hour which equates to roughly 110h/p. the vehicle gets 80mpg, uses the electric motor for city driving and even gets a recharge from braking, the engine is used for restoring the fuel cell as well as when more power is needed, but mostly it's used for highway driving, in other words, cruising speeds. this is just one concept that is in actual use from honda right now. the use of hydrogen is being introduced because it uses 40~60 percent of it's energy while petrol uses only 30~40 percent of it's energy.

but my original question isn't limited to just future transportation, my question implicates the whole of our universe. it's Newton's Law on a micro scale instead of a macro scale. this is the current unknown, how gravity will behave in a micro sub atomic atmosphere. implications from this discovery includes future transport but will effect our known universe. take Bell's Therom for instance; using photons as our guinea pig, the lab test goes - if you take the photon partical, blast it apart into electrons move them from one end of a building (or universe) and suddenly switch the polarity of one electron from that photon, the other electron suddenly switched to the opposite polarity. this is an example of String Therory. classic science tells us the particles are just that, pin point electrons that keep thier own frequency and orbit around the nucleus, but the string therory of Bell's Theorem explains why sometimes, with no outside force, that an particle will "jump orbit" to the sub atomical level. so, in other words, a photon particle is a point of light that which vibrates, this vibration, when looked at properly, shows us a sine wave.

so basically, as the question goes, "if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to see or hear it fall, does it really fall?" the answere is scientifically proven, yes indicated by Bell's Theorem and lab experiement of splitting the photon particle.

see, now this is incredible new science. now we need to know how our basic laws of physics works at the micro sub atomic level. i chose gravity as one example of macro physics to examine in micro quatum physics. i imagined that if we knew how sub atomic gravity works, then we will be able to evolve past our current energy needs.

I know I am not like other women in the world but I am with you on this bowtie, I would like anything just as long as someone thought of me. In the four years AG and I have been together we haven't really done a whole lot of gift giving but we buy whatever we want and call it a present. We got what we wanted and we picked it out for ourselves. We avoid the whole "It wasn't what I wanted" by going together and picking it out. Might take away from the whole gift giving process but it avoids arguments and some people no matter what you do are never happy, ingrates!

And the whole ring thing is just ridiculous. My cousin just got done "picking" out her engagement ring and was telling me about how expensive her tastes were. Man I don't care if it came out of a cracker jack box, its from the person I love it and it has meaning behind it. Someone doesn't need to spend $3,000 on a ring to show they love me. Love shouldn't be based on material things one wears around their finger but it happens.

i'm also with you on this dr_bowtie.

momma, you took the words right out of my mouth. i feel even if my guy was walking home one day and saw something that was uniquely beautiful to him, like say just the way a flower's pedals were formed, something that inspired him, that would be one of the very best presents he could give me.

Unfortunately, we pig americans will continue to cry about gas/oil prices and shortages all while driving our big pig SUV's and trucks that you don't need living in the middle of the city, as well as other gas-guzzling vehicles etc...because we won't change...What are we going to do when China, soon to become the world's largest economy, begins to gain enough personal wealth in it's citizens that they all want to drive cars to get about in their giant 10,000,000+ citizen cities like Shanghai etc...? What are we going to do...go invade them also?

(Phrases in above quote emboldened by me.) This is exactly our problem. Everyone thinks in terms of "we" and "they". We all need to think in terms of "us" as a whole. We as a global community - the emerging Chinese economy, the mighty military machine that is the USA, the Iraq/Iran muslims who fight and kill each other because of minor religious differences, the Arab/Israeli ongoing, neverending war over a tiny plot of desert, the fanatic Arab muslims who have decided that America is the Great Satan - the list goes on and on - why do we continue to have wars all across the planet after the war to end all wars less than a hundred years ago?

The answer falls to the underlying basic of seperatism - the emerging Chinese economy will want what the US has enjoyed for so long that its people as a whole have yet to enjoy; the military machine that is the USA will continue to be driven by those in power who are in turn driven by those who have the $money$; the Arabs and Israeli will continue to fight over a tiny patch of earth because they desire the land for themselves; etc, etc, etc.

Most people are satisfied with a world in which differences - not similarities - are honored, and disagreements are settled by conflicts and war. Most people are satisfied with a world in which survival is for the fittest - "might is right" - competiton is required and winning is called the highest good. If such a system happens to produce losers, so be it, as long as you are not among them. The answer? Untill the haves can imagine themselves in the place of the have-nots - which currently hardly anyone does - we will continue to have a world that is based on seperatism. Most people are threatened by group consciousness, a concept such as the collective good, a one-world view. The inability to experience the suffering of another as one's own is what allows such suffering to continue.

We need to unify our mindset on a global scale. We need to change the ideas that might makes right, that the dollar is almighty, and that we are all seperate from each other as God is seperate from us. Seperation breeds indifference and false superiority. Unity produces compassion and genuine equality. I believe that the signs of the degradation of our environment are there in plain sight for all to see, but no one is taking them seriously except for a small handful of people - the tree huggers, Greenpeace, a few scientists and a very small, insignificant number of the general public. The degradation of our environment has yet to impact people on a personal level, so until it does the concept that we are seperate will continue to hold sway and soccer moms with ONE KID will continue to drive Lincoln Navigators.

Salem...was (and probably still is lol) a dump. Sorry, but it is a dump in my eyes. Yuk.

hehe It was kinda dumpy where he lived at first, but he ended up building a house in a new part of town and when I went back there near the end of the '80s it seemed to me that not only had the town grown some, but that it was a lot less dumpy. :P He lives in WA state now, so he still gets a lot of rain; but we're both from a small town in Hawaii originally that gets a lot of rain, so we're used to it. Living in AZ these past few years I miss the rain.. :sigh:

so basically, as the question goes, "if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to see or hear it fall, does it really fall?" the answere is scientifically proven, yes indicated by Bell's Theorem and lab experiement of splitting the photon particle.

But you forgot to account for the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncertainty_principle

therefore Bells Theorem falls short of being precises enough to know if the tree really fell. Hmm!

More to the point. Alternative fuels will become more prevalent as the price of oil increases and becomes less relevant.

Right now we are in an oil based economy. Cheap oil makes alternative sources too expensive to have a chance to flourish.

As the price of oil increases in the market place, alternative sources become more economical for use. This is why you see a push towards these other sources only during a time of high oil prices. See 1973 and 1984.

This has the effect of making the oil less valuable which lowers the price of oil which makes the alternatives more expensive and therefore less valuable in the market place.

This cyclic pattern will occur until the worlds economically recoverable oil resources have been exhausted in another 100 years or so.

If you think of it this way, Middle Eastern oil becomes less valuable the more expensive it is.

China, on the other hand, is an another story. China used their considerable stash of cash to influence the free elections in Venezuela two years ago to get "their man" elected. Venezuela has become the number one petroleum source for China and gets their backing on major international issues. The Chinese agents in Venezuela spent approximately 7 Billion US dollars to buy the election of a socialist leader that is beholden to the Chinese.

A "100 years or so" is a very optimistic estimation, indeed. One more obstacle has to be added: it's not just the amount of oil left which is important, but also to what expence it could be pumped up. This is for example why Iraq and Kuwait, or more exact the creation of Kuwait, have been so important to western countries. It's not just that their reserve of oil is great, but it's also comparable very cheap to pump up.

So in this sence China is taking a well known course. Nothing new under the sun. At least Venezuela didn't get one of the old fashion juntas. South America has suffered (what concernes Venezuela time will tell, since their people have the right to agree or not with the existing regime or nor, whatever opinions others might have) many times, not just because of oil, but at times because of bananas.

ah yes, as Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle goes, once you make a measurement it's no longer uncetain but before we make that measurment, it's potential is unknown.

example, Schrodinger's Cat, this is a very unique cat, it's both dead and alive at the same time. quatum uncertainty. we don't know until we observe or measure.

We place a living cat into a steel chamber, along with a device containing a vial of hydrocyanic acid. There is, in the chamber, a very small amount of a radioactive substance. If even a single atom of the substance decays during the test period, a relay mechanism will trip a hammer, which will, in turn, break the vial and kill the cat. The observer cannot know whether or not an atom of the substance has decayed, and consequently, cannot know whether the vial has been broken, the hydrocyanic acid released, and the cat killed. Since we cannot know, the cat is both dead and alive according to quantum law, in a superposition of states. It is only when we break open the box and learn the condition of the cat that the superposition is lost, and the cat becomes one or the other (dead or alive).

This is what i plan on telling her (And yes i drew from your wisdom)

" Look babe. I have a gf right now and if were are going to continue sleeping together or you are entertaining any thoughts of things happening between us i need to know so i can let ash know i'm not serious with her. otherwise you are going to have stop touching me because i'm not going to end up hurting yet another innocent person who is caught up in the middle of us"

but like u i have left other g/f to get back with her b4 (we split for 9 months once) i never really found ne1 in that time i really truly felt anything for. and i ended up leaving a gf of about 3 months to get back with my ex. which when we got back together it was great for a long time. but newayz next time i talk to her i'm gonna tell her. ( monday hopefully, but the bad thing about monday is it's the 23rd which is the day of our aniversary {married sept. 23 and also met on sept 23} we celebrate each 23rd)

if u can offer ne improvements to my "speech" it would be greatly helpful. i wanna kinda have a "gameplan" going into this even though i can't even come close to predicting the outcome. thnx

What is death? Can anything be utterly destroyed? Or does one form follow another?
