Best bios for Opty 144 & Khx BH5?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've been overclocking P4 setups for at while, but I've been dying to try s939 Opterons

I've just gotten my hands on a setup (in sig.), but my motherboard seems to be acting up. I can't get the htt past 300. I've tried to put a divider on the ram (so that it runs under 200mhz) and lowered the divider on the cpu also. But the motherboard just won't get past the windows loading screen. I've figured the problem is that whatever bios my mobo was delivered with, isn't very compatible with my setup. So what bios should I go with instead? And where can I DL it?

also, what do you mean by cant get your HTT past 300?

you have an HTT multiplier which is usually 5, if your doing overclocking youll need to lower that multiplier

htt = multiplierxFSBx2, make sure your HTT doesnt go over 2,000 when using that equation i gave you

for example, i am at 290fsb

290 x 3 x 2 = HTT because my HTT multiplier is 3

maybe your asking why do you times it by 2 after you did fsbxmultiplier? well thats because amds systems are dual pumped or something rather

First of, thanks for the quick reply.

About the equation.. I know it as htt multi x fsb = ~1000mhz but it basically makes the same difference. I set my htt multi to 3 so that I would be in the sweetspot all the way up to ~fsb330.

Where can I download the 704 bios?
