hi all,

any support on this would be great

there is a karajin audio thing that comes with my lanparty, the only thing that doesnt work off of it is CD-audio

so basically i cant play some games with sound or cant play any DVDs

1.i installed the dvd software thinking it might be that, but nope still didnt work

2.i tried taking off the jumpers on the front audio connector that didnt work

3.i tried switching the connector around and trying it multiple ways, that didnt work either

anything else i could try? any help what so ever please?

Could you just clearify this point: are the jumpers now set to pins 5-6 and 9-10? You probably noticed that the Karajan audio module will not allow you to use both front and rear audio connections at the same time (ok, it's possible but takes some modification). So for a basic setup, using the rear audio connectors, except from the jumpers you shouldn't connect anything else.

i took the jumpers off thinking they had something to do with the CD-audio but they are back on the same places i took them off and i have no front audio, only rear, but i want my cd audio to work when playing DVDs

That's right, that's how it works. No jumpers on pin 5-6 and 9-10 = front audio (if you connected the leds correctly); jumpers on = rear audio.

As I already wrote, the only way around this is a moddification, where you wire some of the pins. But I don't remember exactly how to do it, so if that's what you whant try to search the forum.

Just to be safe, I'd use the audio cable and try using the sound control panel to see if you can get something.

Although digital audio extration is suppose to be the better method, not sure how much better it reall is. Plus, it does put a toll on your CPU (but now that we have powerful CPUs, I wonder if that even matters anymore).

You do not need a audio or digital cable between the CD/DVD Rom drive in your computer to your audio module.

Go to your Device Manager in windows, click on the properties of your DVD drive, and put a check mark in the Enable Digital CD audio device.
