tjoff Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Hello The system specs for this thread is the first system in my signature. To make an extremely long story short. The Kingston ram does not work in ram slots 1 and 3. However 2 and 4 works just fine. Theres nothing wrong with the motherboard since the ram in system 2 works just fine in slots 1 and 3. So guess theres some strange compatibility between the kingston ram and slots 1 and 3. So, is this a generaly issue that will be fixed? Because I'm not that happy with being locked to 1024 mb and since it's recommended to have the same type of memory when upgrading I'm expecting a similar result with current bios. I have tried with another pair of the same kingston memory with similar results. Basically I get memory errors and boot errors all the time in slots 1 and 3. Got the latest bios version at the moment, and since it's about 7 months old it makes you doubt that this will be fixed. Any suggestions? faheyd Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I was never able to get my HyperX to work in my board. It would only boot with the most lax of timings (useless). I gave up, beaten and downtrodden!
tjoff Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Bummer... Don't know what to do. It's an issue for me and it seems as if I'm left alone with no rights what so ever. I mean both the motherboard and the ram does work like it should, just not together and trying to return one is probably going to be hard since I can't and probably noone else will bother to look at whether it is the motherboard or the ram that doesn't follow the standards correctly. Because thats what it gets down to, right? That either the motherboard or the ram doesn't do exactly whats it's supposed to be doing (and since the problem seems to be general the flaw is probably there in it's design). As you can see on system 2 (in my signature) I have used Corsair memories. And I have now read that Corsair also have some issues with DFI boards (or vice versa). Now they have been working along fine so far but I plan to get another pair of them in the near future and if thats not going to work I don't know what to do - again left alone with no rights what so ever, so I guess I can't do anything either.. No, I won't take out anything in advance but just the fact that I can't be sure of it working bothers me.
