euler Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Ok, I'm just wondering what peoples RMA experience with DFI is? I'm not used to working directly with a manufacturer, all my RMA's have been with retail organizations, and those had tracking systems so I could verify each step in the process. Last I heard from DFI was that they had no record of recieving my board, though it was delivered the day before, according to UPS (this was the middle of last week). I know the RMA statement says that it could take up to 15 days for the RMA to be processed, but it doesn't say whether or not those are business days or calendar days. I had hoped to hear something by now, but I may be just antsy, since it is my gaming system that is down right now. I'm going through WoW and Guild Wars withdrawls, not to mention CS:S! Anyone got a positive experience they could share that would set my mind at ease?
dr_bowtie Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Yes.... I have had to RMA's with DFI.... the best place for you is here....I joined here when I had trouble booting my board...After I went thru the step of the forum I was instructed to RMA the board.... I emailed AG as suggested and he put me intouch with the right people.... I was impatient at first and called them as well as emailed..... Donna actually answered the phone...when she took my name...she told me she was reading my email when I called....thats funny... I got the board within 5 days..... I had that board for almost 3 months before I decided I should test it....It also was a no-boot.... Now remind you I bought 4 boards total... 3 of the 4 booted and ran out of the box.... When the RMA's board wouldn't boot I emailed AG again and shipped him the board...(at his request) I wan'ted to be sure it was the board and not my lack of experience.....The cross ship a board to me...I had it within 2 days of being notified.....This board boots, I tested it as soon as I got it.... I have 2 running and 2 in boxes still.... Even though I had to RMA 1 board 2 times....I am extemely happy with DFI's service....It also helps to be here...(forum)....I feel DFI really want to make all customers very happy....I have not had such good support from any other product I have bought..... If you posted here and were suggested to RMA and givin the right channels...you'll be fine... hang in there....Doc Edit: ALWAYS when you ship something....get the insurance and receipt request.....this way it's covered against being lost or damaged....and you can see who signed for it and what time....and follow up on the tracking..... you can never be too cautious.. euler Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Well, I didn't discover these forums until I had already contacted DFI about a return, and shipped the board. And now, after reading the forums, I discover that a number of people have had problems with this board and my CPU, and that there are a few things I didn't try that might have resolved the issue. I didn't get insurance, because it will cost maybe $60 for a replacement board (non-dfi, of course, since I can't seem to find the board for sale anywhere), but I did follow the tracking, and it was delivered about a week ago to DFI. [Edit] Well, Just got word from DFI that they recieved my board yesterday. One less worry for me!
