Here_to_Learn Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Looking to mod a Thermalright SI-97/SI-120 to fit on a chipset? My VC (geforce7800gt) sits on top of chipset fan causing faulty cooling...i am aware that you could bent the heatpipe to work just wondering if it is possible to mount either heatsinks on top of chipset. Guest thespin Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Even if it were possible, I don't see how that would fix rather than aggravate your video card clearance problem ...
Here_to_Learn Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 by bending the heat sink to make a "L" shapei would have no clearance issues

Here_to_Learn Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I know mine isn't hot either (40C) but I've got it in a garage and this summer it will be hot. Just future proofing as much as possible...I know no such thing "future proofing." Good to see some one else from Oklahoma that knows a little about computers.
