DIE-HARD Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Here is the PSU ATX-AS500W-BK http://aspireusa.net/product.php?pi...9612de5deee2d75
boatasiaus Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Do you have another PSU to try? We need to rule it out before you RMA the wrong part and waste time There is very little channce that PSU will power everything in that rig. There are/have been multiple issues with Aspire PSU's and these boards
DIE-HARD Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Nothing being powered ATM but the MB, CPU, Mem, and Vidcard through PCI-E slot. Only other PSU I have that might work is an Aspire 420watt and i would have to use a 20-24pin adapter to use it. ---Just tried it and got the same results. I should at least be able to get it to post you would think. I don't know of anywhere local that would carry a big enough PSU. If I did it would probably be horrendously overpriced. Do I order a PSU wait 3 days only to find out I still have the problem and have to RMA the board anyway? Is this one good enough? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817193002
lowboy Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 The psu you have should get you up and going . Try this Do a cmos clear of at least 30min and if doesn't help do a long clear as shown here;http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...04&postcount=
boatasiaus Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 These are the things I think need to be checkd (in no particular order) Try a CMOS clear (30 minute, and if no good, an overnight) A different PSU A different graphics card (any card will do, just to check the PCIe slot on the MOBO) The recommended PSU guide is here
DIE-HARD Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Guess i go for the overnight now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817193002 Sky Hawk/Eagle Tech POWERONE SERIES ATX-GM570PC 570W Power Supply I will order this new PSU tomorrow unless someone says not to. I am gonna be so upset if after all this I still have to RMA the board. I have no other PSU's to test with and I can't afford to buy another PCI-E videocard to test with so I am pretty much out of options. RGone Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Do like everyone else does and rma the board. When the next board comes and you have the same problem> then you know it is not the board. No one in here can tell you FOR SURE what the problem is. No one. But there are so so many users that I see with Aspire stuff that change the supply and boot that it is flat@ss amazing. However I repeat rma the board. Then find the problem when and if there is still a failure to boot. RGone...
