Hi PPL

This is a new computer build.Have had nothing but trouble with my new asus a8n32sli d I have had enough.I want to buy a dfi MB .After paying 400au for this piece of crapp I dont want to spend as much on a DFI and I dont think I need to eather.

I had in mind a DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D S939 nForce4 PCI-Ex16 Karajan SATA RAID Dual G-LAN, IEEE 1394 I dont need Sli but I do need lots of usb's and I want to try run sata II's in raid . All so I want to run a storage drive or perhaps a mirror if it's possible (raid 0 +1) I have a seagate 160g sata II as well.I need to clock my 146 opteron preety hard as it doesn't seem quick enough.I dont know a lot was hopeing to preety much plug and play leave setting on auto etc .

I want game and run 64bit pro If i can work out how I want to run dual boot for MCE as this is used in htcp aplications all so. Am I one the right track here ??

Thanks Peeps

What memory are you using, going the DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D is the right way to go in my book if you want to go SATA II.

If SATA II isn't a priority then I'd suggest the DAGF/Infinity - which is the "plain vanilla" NF4 mobo by DFI. But even the plain vanilla DFI boards offer more then any other manufacturer's board in the same price range.

I've had my DAGF now 6 months and can honestly say, I've never had a better more flexible mobo. The preformance is just outstanding.

Hey powsmowl

I took my computer to a tech today he thinks the crucial ram is stuffed.I dont know what to think of that.I wonder what the chanches are of the ram being stuffed or whether the board did it.Iam sending the ram back but I am tempted to buy the dfi board and pay them to test the ram on my dfi board before they send it out.

I considered the radeon board firstly but have worries about the bugs it may have and also I believe the usb chipset in the radeon is not up to scratch speed wise which rules it out for me as I want to experment with usb audio cards. And yes I want to use my sata II drives .

regards Gary
