anyone out there have any guides on how to create a homemade waterblock for a socket 939 adn a nforce 4?

 

what kinda tools will i need?

 

whats the most efficent design

you bought all that stuff in your sig, but you cant afford to buy a 50buck waterblock? lol

 

if you really wanted to diy, you would need a drillpress. and that would cost more than 50bucks! i don't think it would be worth it

 

lol after that im poor

 

i had to buy a new cpu and now nits lame... :( opteron 144 cabne adn it only manges 2.4GHZ!!!????

 

selling it and gettign new one so every dollar counts lol

 

 

i was thinking abouta using a hand drill with a vise and drilling bit by bit and then chizeling it out

trust me, you will not be able to make a more efficient water block than the commercial ones currently available.

 

that is, unless you are a master machinist or something.

 

it doesnt have to be that efficent..just signifigantly cooler than an xp90

Keep the air cooling until you can afford to buy your block and parts. You could turn out a block with a drill press and some skill but the bits and taps needed and other materials will run the cost well above what you could buy a good block for.
