I came accross this program called SP2004. To me, it basically looks like a modified Prime95, with a few more options, and its eaier to use. I wanted to know if this program is any good for stres testing the cpu. Also if it is, what priority level is considered best to use, 1-10. So far I've been running it for 4+hours at priority 1, which I hope this is good. Feedback please :) .

Yes it is very good.

It`s logical 1-10

1 less stress and lower priority -10 max stress and max.priority

Their was a lengthy discussion of priority a while back; unfortunately I can't remember the conclusions. You might want to do a search. I would suggest running at least 8 - you would hate to have a false sense of security when it comes to stability. Better yet, run it at 10 overnight when you're sleeping.

One note on SP2004: I am pretty sure it is based on some older code (23.xx). The latest Prime 95 is 24.14 or so. Some argue that the 23.xx version is less strenuous, and thus not as reliable as a stability test.

After some testing today it seems that i can't pass SP2004, while i do pass Prime95 with the same settings. I stick to my v24.12 for now.
