Take apart a system completely....

Recommended Posts

I recently completely broke down a system to clean and add/remove things. After reconstructing it again properly and turning it back on, i get no signal to the monitor. This computer has an older mobo (not dfi) with on board graphics and i hear all the other components going but the monitor screen stays black and the light amber. Can anyone think of why a computer might just do that? I know this sounds absurd but has anyone ever heard of monitors only working with their brand? (i.e. dell only works with dell). Thanks anyone who cares to answer such an odd question.
