Guest geronimo Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Tested for dead pixels? Where? The monitor? The pixels occur randomly there aren't any dead pixels on the monitor The monitor is a Lacie
wevsspot Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Are both your monitor and video card running at native resolutions and refresh frequencies when you see these funky dots? Are you using the DVI input or does your monitor and video card support VGA also?

Are you using the DVI input or does your monitor and video card support VGA also? Don't know the native in the video card but my lacie 321 has 1600*1200 native resolution. I'm using the dvi input because this is a top quality 2000 monitor. My monitor also has vga output haven't tried that yet though but i want it running dvi. wevsspot Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Understood, and I would want DVI working also. I was just trying to eliminate a faulty DVI cable as the culprit.

The monitor has worked fine for over a moth with my old computer. Can't try that though since that card is an agp one
wevsspot Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Have you tried the card in each of the PCIex slots with the same results?

wevsspot Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 It sounds like a video card problem. Probably time to RMA. IMHO you'll have a tough time running graphics intensive programs at 1600X1200 with that video card.
