lenzo Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Hello all, first post here! See sig. for planned new build. My existing rig will be dismantled and I'd like to use some old parts, namely my OCZ 450 Modstream PSU. The stickies approve of the 520 Powerstream but make no mention of my 450 Modstream. I'm trying to save $100. by not having to purchase the 520 model unless absolutely needed , and will the 20/24pin connector work with the Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra D ? Opinions needed. tHANKS

lowboy Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 If your running your pump from psu I would get new psu if not you need atleast 26A on 12 v rail and 24pin.
lenzo Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 The OCZ 450 Modstream has 26amps on the 12v rail and is very stable at feeding over 150 watts currently to my oc'd mobile cpu. The OCZ 520 Powerstream only has 28amps on the 12v rail (not much more than 26a !). Is it true the DFI Lanparty mobos need a psu with a minimum of 480watts (or is that only the SLI models) ? lowboy Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 What you have should work 26A is for single card 34A for sli but if you have alot of other sources taking power ie water pumps ,lights, high powered fans you need to consider those.
