nanjil Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 hello: I overclocked my board to fsb [email protected] core. It is stable. but then after a day of runnng cpu-z shows the stock fsb @1.6V mbm5 also shows 1.6V core if I reboot everything goes back to my custom settings. what is happening here? Fight Game Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Are you using some software to overclock?
nanjil Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 update: I just discovered that this happens after the computer retunrs from standby. Is it a power supply problem?
nanjil Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 no I am using just the bios
Fight Game Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 You say you're runnning 1.5v core...How did you get here? Setting to 1.5 with no % increase, or setting it to something lower with a +%? Just curious, if setting it another way would help. I think either way, it's probably just reporting wrong for some reason. If you don't have any software overclocking tools installed, I don't see why or how it could change. Try Smart Guardian. Does it report the same? And I assume, after a restart, it goes back to 1.5? nanjil Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I did that by thepercentage increase (110%) field. I just realized I amusing a 20 pin power supply. will that impact this problem any way? thanx

nanjil Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 I just checked another rig I have which is entirely different but seems to have teh same problem. the rig is gigabyte ga-k8nsc 939 nf3 board with 3000 939 venice chip. I have overclocked straignt to 240 fsb with no overvoltage. the power supply is different ; antec 380 w cpu-z reports it correctly. but afet recovering from sleep it goes back to showing 200 fsb. so is it most likley a software problem? by the way thanx for the link and I will read through it.
