New problem occure after I put in the secon ram in slot 4, windows didn't boot up and restart the computer almost direct. I took out boot memory, swap em an put one back on second slot both up to windows, both stick could both from first slot but not from 1&3. Put them both back in 2&4 (orange) boot up yes Happy me playd an hour last night and went to bed, in the mornig I start up the computer no problem but after I run Panda and find three "tracking cookies or virus" so I go furthur to read the info on their webb page using the direct link, BIG PROBLEM the computer hang, after a wheil I cold boot. ICON57 Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 when u reload the os, you will need to del the "c" partition, and then create it again, and then format.....this all has to be done, cause you cant wipe clean/format your os partition while in windows... sammuel Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 My problem is that I can't get into XP, I try to reinstal XP but get BSOD. So I try as Loweboy suggest to wipe C: without getting into OS, may fear is to lose my second partition E: where I have alot of nice stuff. But my major problem with this thread is not how to wipe it is how to install Windows XP!

But my major problem with this thread is not how to wipe it is how to install Windows XP! If you are carefull and only delete your "C:" system partition, then your "E:" partition will remain intact. Have you done a surface scan on the hard drive to make sure the drive is still good?

If you're worried, maybe you'll be able to run a linux Live-CD like Knoppix or something similare to check and save what you want. Knoppix is actually a good rescue tool for Windows (I bet Bill doesn't like to hear that  ).
