superb Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Im planning on getting a new video card under 300$ budget and The Nvidia XFX GeForce XXX Edition 6800GS looks like its the bang for the buck around my area i found this too be the cheapest price XFX GeForce 6800 GS But i Got a Hookup with some1 who works at ATI who can get me a Brand New X1800XL For 250$ both are basically the same price and wanted to know which would be a better deal
palehorse Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Forget the 6800! You can get a few great 7800GT's at Newegg for under $300! Best one on the bunch: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130256 now the tough part is deciding which one: the X1800XL vs the 7800GT... I'd say that the 7800GT is the best bet because you can get another one in a few months and run them SLI...
sQuid Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 He's got an Ultra-D (not SLI). He'll have to mod it to get SLI.

Gary_Johnston Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 If those are the 2 you're choosing between, x1800xl would be the best choice if you ask me... as much as i don't like ATi right now XD

george__ Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Go with something like a MSI NX6800GS. Our Price is like 224 CAD... Good Card, Nice Price, Great Performance. Those Under 300 bux 7800 GTs are EWW. Steve.
