Oclock Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I am getting a NF4 Ultra-D and a 4200 with a 7800GT, would it be smart to reformat? I recently reformatted about 2 months ago already. But would it be benificial to do again to be safe?
divided Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 yes. if the mobo has a diff chipset than your otherone it would be smart. i just did a repair install and it worked fine for me. but most people would say reformat.
Polygon Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 If you're changing a mobo then you should always do a clean install. Your system will run MUCH better.
TazD3V1L Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Another tip: Clean install = delete the partition and make a new one, don't leave the old partition there as sometimes it can cause problems when switching drive controlers. btw in case you want to know why a clean install is better it is so your registry and startup sequence isn't bloated by drivers that you don't need anymore
