High resolution SHUTS DOWN my PC on SLI

When I play Need For Speed Underground 2 in 1280x960 resolution and put High level of detail (but no AA )my PC shuts down in less than a millisec.

Is that what we call great timings?

I paid almost 3000$ to build a powerful PC and a 2 two years old game shuts it down.

 

I left all drivers and BIOS as they were shipped with my hardware.

I am not interested in OC my PC.

 

Any help will be appreciated.
