3rd Party Active Chipset Cooler

Recommended Posts

I know I know, its all over the place, I did my research though so don't flame!

I've been looking around and noticed that the evercool vc-re seems to be popular. Then I've seen the vantec iceberq too. I've also seen some passive solutions but I want an active solution that will keep my chipset at :D:)

The Evercool VC-RE has 2 steady (not blinking, flashing) LEDs.

One is red the other is blue.

IMHO far easier to install, READ NO MODIFING, DRILLING, than other soultions, and works well.

However, you're not going to see the temps you say you desire.

True, alot of people have that installed, so do I, works great. Just use caution.

there are so many posts on this and many times end up right next to each other at the top, there needs to be a sticky on this with pics like the 'how to replace the goop on you chipset hsf' one

It aint just the goop, I put AS5 on my chipset, and it runs nice, when its really hot in my room it loads at 43, otherwise 35-38, I want an active solution that could perform similiarly

sorry, I was not saying it might be the goop, just that there should be a stickie with pics LIKE the one wehre angry shows how to replace the goop, so that its the first thing anyone who wants to replace their fan for one reason (failure of stock fan) or another (quiet/performance over stock fan) sees.

I am still using my stock cooler btw and it never lets the temps go above 45C at HALF speed ~3k rpm, i have it set to go full speed at 45 in the bios and it never doz. guess centurion5 is better ventilated case than most...having the silencer down there causing turbulance and moving the hot vid card air out the back prolly helps too.
