I'm thinking to get another gb of ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820146549, will my system work in dual channel mode after installing the new memory? I have to change someting in the bios to maked work in dual channel?

These SHOULD be in dual channel right away (nothing in bios to change to enable dual channel, that depends on the colored slots you have them in) as long as you put them in the same colored slots. Also, when running 4x512, you need to disable CPC in Genie Bios and remember, if you are OCing, 4x512 is hard to OC with, so if they won't oC, then just set them at their SPD timings and run at stock speed.

  • 5 months later...

Hello again. I have a problem running my 2gb Crucial Ballistix in dual channel mode. Everithing is in default. In the beginnih when I get the second 1gb of memory everithing was running excellent. But in the last couple of months, I'm running the memory in non dual channel mode. When I put the memory in dual channel mode, sometimes the system loads windowsxp, but right after the desktop appears, the system restarts. Any suggestions?

P.S.

I purchase a good memory and board to do some overclocking, but I don't have time .

There is a ton of information on your ram and settings posted here on forum just use search feature and you should find everything you need. The OC guide very good source for information on setting up memory.
