no_nonsense4857 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Could anybody throw some light on this. Cos, I have a bluetooth dongle and a memory stick on USB, so, I might stop the HDD by mistake!! But logically speaking, how come the HDD shows up as removeable storage?
rebelangel Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 because sata is hot-swopable like usb windows xp shows a sata drive as a removeable drive there is nothing I know you can do about it. you could however configure you usb devices so you don't have to use the "safely remove hardware" option. edit: misspelled removeable
red930 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 According to the spec you can not stop the OS drive since access to it is locked by the OS. On my rigs with SATA drives in a RAID-0 array, a dialog box pops up saying the drive can not be stopped, try again later.
