No Boot / 4 LEDs

Recommended Posts

Cool thanx guys.

I spoke to DFI today and they are going to send me a new chip to try. Atleast for future reference (hopefully this wont happen again) I'll know what to do. :)

just make sure before you put in the new bios chip the cmos is clear....jumpered on and battery out....don't want to corrupt the new chip...then move the jumper back....insert battery and boot....

Awesome. That was going to be my next question actually (i.e. What to do when I get the new one).

I want to make sure I handle it the right way so as to not screw the new one up.

Thanx a lot. :D

Frankm,

When you get ur new chip. Boot up into windows with default settings. carefully remove the chip and place the ur old one in. Use winflash to reprogram. (I always write the file to the chip 3 times and have never had a problem with winflash). Reboot go into bios setup and load default settings, save and reboot u should be good to go. The new chip you get from DFI becomes a spare if u run in to the same problem again.

No problem,

I do not think there would be too many owners of this board who have not had similar problems.

Good luck

Thanks puppetmasta. I checked out the review. That's a great investment. I'll probably pick one up.

As frustrating as this whole ordeal has been, I must say it's been quite the learning experience.
