Starrdrum17 Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 ok so i was over clockin my cpu... just testing different settings. and i put it up kinda high. not sure how high .. my amd 64 3000 i think i had it at like 2.6 or near that.. well when i saved and exited bios, the led all four stayed lite up. meaning a cpu problem. so i reset the cmos like a million times and i cant get ne thing to boot. all 4 leds stay on.. can u damage a cpu by pushing it to far??? ive evern tried takin out the battery for like an hour and unplugging everything, reseating the cpu. ive tried it all... so u think i damaged it?? Guest akahai Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I don't really know as my DFI board is on the way, but from previous experience you need to reset the bios compeletely. There might be a key you can hit to do that (which I have no idea what it is), but if you don't know the key, then you can simply unplug the power cord, take out the BIOS battery and let it sit for 5 mins, then put everything back and clear your BIOS. That should fix the problem.

xgunnas Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 and i dun really think 2.6 is too far, should be around 1.5v or so, unless of course if u setted it higher and burned it otherwise, what they said
Starrdrum17 Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 and i dun really think 2.6 is too far, should be around 1.5v or so, unless of course if u setted it higher and burned itotherwise, what they said yea like what if i fudged up and set a setting to high like voltage or ne thing.. my basic question is.. is there ne thing in the bios i couldve done by accident that could actually "fry" my cpu?? xgunnas Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 i havent tried it, and i prolly shouldnt, but i dun think the cpu vid can fry it, prolly the vid control with the %s if u actually touched that, but it's not too possible.
