jamal327 Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 It all depends on what version memory you have I have a pair of Corsair PC3200 (2x512) ver 4.1 that will do 255 (510) @ 1:1 ratio at 2-3-3-7 @ 2.9volts and that's all it will do does not matter if you loosen the timings up or add voltage. I also owned a pair (same as above just ver 5.1) that would not go past 220 (440) did not matter timings or voltages. It's all just luck getting a good overclocking pair. IShb3w Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 i used to run 275 no problem at 2.8v with stock timings 3-4-4-8 but after my pc was affected by lightning it never ran the same, ive since upgraded but i had to lower it to 240 like i posted above

You'd be well advised though to wait until January (Prices for RAM are known to drop after xmas) and then getting a 2GB Kit, such as the OCZ PC4000 1024MB EB Platinum. Buying 1GB Kits now is throwing money out the window, future games will be heavily reliant on 2GB, some already are such as BF2 & Fear. Marikhal Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 I ran the Corsair sticks in my signature at [email protected] on air cooling... bad idea (the air cooling, that is ) - it tested stable, but it eventually became instable (not my RAM's fault, though - I think). This was during the hotter days of the year, so my load temps were touching on 52C (idle at 43-44 or so)... I didn't like that one bit. Just a side-note.
