newman4ever Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I'm running Super PI32 to test stability while attempting to find my max CPU, and when I check CPU usage, its only at around 50%. Is this because the task is being split between the two cores? And if so, should I run the proggy limiting it to only 1 core (not sure if this is possible) Someone please let me know if there's another way I need to do this for dual core. Thanks
sickens Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Running super pi twice will give you 100% usage.
fragglerock Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 its using 1 of your 2 cores at 100%. 1/2 x 100 = 50. This is because this is a single threaded application, and therefore can only be run on one core . Any single threaded application can only consume half of your processing power. So...everythings alright. Nice setup btw, quite similar to mine.
