SageI Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I keep getting tiny tiny bubbles coming out of my alctel block. I see no leaks and have reseated the tubing twice. My Water cooling goes pump-CPU-GPU-rad.-resevoir-CPU. When I shut my system down all of the bubbles settle in my highest tube. Not a very big air pocket but it is still there. If I top off my resevoir the bubbles seem less. Any ideas?
THunDA Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 You'd probably get quicker answer from the Killer if you pm or email him..
Branjo Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 totally sorry for jumping in, but if you take off all the water blocks and setup it up with your radiator being the highest point of all and give them a little tap or two (like the nurse does with the syringe before inflicting pain on your butt cheek) laws of physics say the bubbles would rise to the top. leave it for a little while and then top off the radiator? im interested in water cooling myself and if that gets the ok from you then i'd know it works before I attempt it on my rig
Graphite Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Your res should be "trapping" all the air bubbles, and the fill the reservior to remove the air. If possible, just have the pump on. Do that either with a jumper, or if you have a stand-alone pump, just plug it in. Take your system...turn it, twist it, shake it....anything to get the bubbles to get into the reservior. Just be careful the exhaust portion of the reservior is getting water when you move the case around. No need to suck air in from the reservior. Just keep on adding water to the reservior until you cannot add anymore. When the air bubbles stop coming out of the woodwork, you are done. If you continue getting more and more bubbles from nowhere, you may have a problem. Get rid of all the hardware from the case, so it's just the watercooling system in the case. Grab on to the tubing, and move it around on the barbs. If water starts coming out, you don't have a good enough of a seal. CPU killer is the man with watercooling, he'll fix you up. pooldoc Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Sounds like an suction leak to me, I would look to where your pump draws water[usually barb in center front] make sure that fitting is tight. Pooldoc
red930 Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 How long have you had it running? I believe it took a good 12 hours straight before all the bubbles were out of mine, it will probably take you less if your reservoir is the highest point. nitemareglitch Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 True, it helps to twist and turn your rad, like do it till the bubbles are all fine and tiny, then stop it, turn and twist everything, pump, blocks, rad, let em settle into bigger bubbles, then work em around till they are in yer resevoir. Took me a bit to get em worked out, then there were some TINY bubbles, but, my fillport took em all out overnight for me. As long as the bubbles dont make yer pump sound all funny, I think you should be fine!
SageI Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 The bubbles are being generated by my Maze 4 block. Water comes in clear but exits it all most like the cavitation you see on a high speed prop in the water. The bubble stream is concetrated in the center of the exhausted water then spreads out as it moves down the tube. I have just email CPU Kller and will wait for a reply. It really does not effect my cooling at all. I have replaced all of my hose clamps with metal (screw type) hose clamps. I have no leaks and do not have to add water that often. Lets say 1/2 oz. every month.

If you don't have a leak, it will eventually go away. You still have Micro bubbles in your system. They can take days to work out of a loop. Some times I get lucky and don't have this, but then some times I get these little bubble that just take their sweet butt time getting out of my loop. Your Res will eventually trap the air that is in your system. That is assuming you have enough fluid in your res so you are not drawing air pockets into your pump... SageI Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 CPU Killer thanks for the reply. I will wait and see if the bubbles work out of my system. If not I will probably hook up my pump to my nexus fan controller and slow the pump down.
