polarism Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I've tried both the Marvell and Nvidia ethernet drivers/ports (enabled one at a time and only had one driver at a time installed). I cannot acquire an IP... driver installs fine for either, it sees it. I cannot acquire an IP. WTF???????????????????????????? Guest Timmay Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Are you getting a 169.***.***.*** IP address? Try pinging 127.1.1.1 If that works try Pining "localhost" This will test if TCP IP is properly installed on your Network Card. Ensure that DHCP is enabled on what ever your trying to connect to. polarism Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I can ping localhost yeah. It's a 169 addy, yep, the default windows one. DHCP is enabled on the router, I changed NOTHING on the router, all i did was pull the Audigy out, and enable the onboard audio, it immediately killed my ability to obtain an IP. I tried uninstalling both interfaces, enabling one at a time, installing the driver, rebooting. Nada. What in the world could possibly cause this? Guest Timmay Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Last thing I can think of is IRQ conflict... lol I don't think that is the case tho. But check it under Device Manager.
polarism Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I fixed it. I went and pulled an unsupported driver out of that 8.22 unified pack floating around on guru3d.com Installed it manually. Ethernet NRM driver version 5.09 nforce 3/4 (customised whql)
