kaiserftw Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Hello there. You guys must be fed up of topics like these, but i just got a new dfi system and want to overclock it. Problem is that I swore by intel until recently so have no overclocking experience at all. My pro would only do 225 HTT. Even when my Ram is on a divider (5:6), 1:2 wont boot up the system at all. Here are my genie bios settings: 225 (above this is prime failure within 5 min) x5 16 16 11 100mhz disable startup 1.500 104% 1.20 1.50 2.60 disable x2 x1 x16 x1 disable auto pinstrap disable enable enable enable enable Disable Dram config is as follows 200 1:01 Auto Auto Auto Auto Auto 07 Auto 2 2 2 3 3120 enable auto 0 Auto Auto Auto N Auto 256 Disable 16x 07x disable Temperature are CPU 32 at rest and upto 48 under 100% stress I know my ram sucks but can I keep it on a divider or something? Please suggest what I should do.
PL4YD34D Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 thats a really nice setup. i think that ram is going to let it down. suggest if you cant get new ram just yet, try tweaking the timings in dram config to maximise stabilty. (check dram threads here)

kaiserftw Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Thanks for the appreciation. I thought 225 FSB was aweful. Do you think tweaking timings would help me oc my cpu further??
kaiserftw Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 thespin. I have read the guide. Very comprehensive. And inspite of following it, I am not sure if I have overclocked my cpu very well.
PL4YD34D Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 . have you read the main skt 939 OCing thread. AMD OCing sticky. if your following the basic procedures outlined then you should be able to determine the possibilities of whats holding your max OCs back. but your ram is defo where i would suspect the problem may lie
