kwan Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 there are 3 torture tests to pick...which one?
ICON57 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 most people use the default test, which is the blend, the small fft's test(first one) is not as hard to pass. i would say to make sure u r stable use the blend. gl
THunDA Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Everyone has their own opinions on this, but Ive always tested my clocks using blend and ALWAYS end up with a stable clock..
TheFlowerKing Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 My opinion on this : For finding max cpu speed - Small FFT's - Why? Cos it's quicker to fail than blend IMO. For stability - blend. But I'm a rushed overclocker, do it fast, do it right. Do it BF2 style!
racinjimy Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 takes too long to use prime for that I find my max clock using superPI, and then run prime for 8-24 hours to make sure it is truly stable when I prime I run a blend test like THunDa
SoyoJoe Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I like to use small fft's for testing the cpu and then blend for overall stability. Then throw in a few super pi 32m runs and lastly some heavy gameing I dont think there is any right or wrong way, just as long as u stress the cpu and memory for a long enough time to be 100% sure its stable, which should be atleast 8 hours if not more.
