Lokaar Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Hi all, I got my new motherboard on tuesday, and i've hit my first problem. The computer locks up after around 40 minutes - this is enough time to get to ~90% in memtest or ~90% of the initial file copy in the windows install process (just before the first reboot). When it locks up in memtest, the clock stops, the text for the line of options at the bottom disappears (white stripe is still there) but the flashing "+" in the top left keeps flashing. When it locks up in the windows install process it just freezes. Everything is running at the default bios settings (i haven't changed anything except whether to run memtest). The temperatures reported in the bios are in the following ranges: CPU = 20 - 24 degrees PWM = 34 - 38 degrees Chipset = 40 - 48 degrees The powersupply voltages are all a little bit higher than the specified values. Can anyone suggest anything i can try to find out which component is at fault, or if there is a way to fix the problem. Are the PWM and chipset temps too high? (if the PWM is too high, where on the motherboard is the sensor (or the parts that need cooling)?) I'm at work at the moment, so i can't check anything right now Thanks for any help.
